Saturday April 8th, 2017 - The Second Annual Mayor’s Food Share is expected to deliver groceries and prepared food to up to 2,000 families Saturday at Stater Bros. Stadium, 11600 Air Expressway.
Sponsored by the Adelanto Growers Association and others, the event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and last until the food is gone, event organizers said. Barbecue, hot dogs and hamburgers will be served as volunteers gather groceries for families; the groceries will include a “box of love” with ingredients for Easter dinner and more.
There will also be Easter baskets for children under 10 years old and the Easter bunny is planned to make an appearance.
The event, predominantly open to residents in Adelanto and El Mirage, will include a clothing swap, information about available services and volunteer opportunities.
