Two boys airlifted in critical condition after leading deputy on pursuit

ADELANTO — Two teenage boys were airlifted to trauma centers in critical condition early Monday morning after allegedly failing to yield to Sheriff's deputies, authorities said.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials said a deputy attempted to stop a white F-150 pickup truck in the area of Seneca Road and Aster Street around 5:30 a.m. Monday. The driver of the pickup truck was allegedly driving recklessly, but refused to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit.
The deputy pursued the vehicle until the driver of the pickup truck crashed near Aster and Cactus streets. Authorities said the pickup lost control on the dirt road, rolled over and ejected two of the five teenage passengers.
San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters arrived at the scene and found the two passengers that had been ejected had critical injuries. The two were flown from Adelanto High School to Antelope Valley Hospital in Palmdale. Both are still reportedly in critical condition.
A third boy was transported by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center and is in stable condition, authorities said.
The remaining two boys were checked by paramedics at the scene and released to their parents.
Authorities said that the pickup truck was found to be stolen out of Adelanto.
The collision is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
