The Defund Detention Campaign will be hosting a community meeting for residents of Adelanto. The community meeting will take place at Astro Burger (11619 Rancho Road, Adelanto, CA 92301) on January 28th from 3 to 5pm. This will be a time for residents to learn about the prison expansion in their hometown, discuss what they want to see for the future of Adelanto, and network with one another.
Additionally, we hope residents will check out our newly launched Youtube Channel, called the Adelanto Citizen. We believe that transparency around Adelanto's public meetings is more important now than ever. Residents want to learn about policy decisions that affect their lives and see how their tax dollars are being spent. As the City of Adelanto does not broadcast its public meetings, as some cities do, the citizens of Adelanto have taken it upon themselves to record the recent city council meetings. Resident can now play these archived videos through our website. Viewers can quickly jump to any topic through index points to review only the information that is important to them.
